By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways: information you provide, information collected automatically, and information from third-party sign-in services.
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account, subscribe, or contact us, we may collect:
- Email address — required for account creation, magic-link sign-in, and transactional messages
- Display name — if you choose to set one or if provided through Google sign-in
- Profile photo — if you sign in with Google OAuth and choose to share your Google profile image
- Payment-related information — when you subscribe, payment details (such as card number, billing address, and payment method type) are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We may receive from Stripe your customer ID, subscription status, billing period dates, and limited billing metadata needed to manage your account
- Communications — if you email us for support, account requests, or privacy inquiries
If you complete checkout as a guest without an existing account, we create an account using the email address you provide in Stripe Checkout.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Watch history and progress — which episodes you watch, how far you watched, and when you last watched (to resume playback and improve recommendations)
- Watchlist data — series you save to your list
- Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, device type, and general technical identifiers needed to deliver video and keep the Service secure
- IP address — used for security, fraud prevention, approximate location (country/region level), and service diagnostics
- Usage data — pages viewed, features used, referral URLs, and interaction with the player (such as play, pause, and completion events)
- Log data — server logs from our hosting provider that may include timestamps, request paths, and error reports
1.3 Information from Google OAuth
If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google may share with us:
- Your Google account email address
- Your name (if available in your Google profile)
- Your profile picture URL (if available)
- A unique identifier associated with your Google account
We use this information only to authenticate you and personalize your account. Google’s use of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
1.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar storage technologies primarily for authentication and session management through Supabase. These help keep you signed in and protect your account.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or sell your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may use essential cookies and local storage required for the Service to function.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using subscribed features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service — stream video, manage your account, save watch progress, and maintain your watchlist
- Process subscriptions and payments — create and manage billing through Stripe, including intro pricing, renewals, and cancellation
- Authenticate you — via magic link, Google OAuth, or post-checkout account creation
- Send transactional communications — such as sign-in links, subscription confirmations, billing receipts (via Stripe), and important service notices
- Improve and maintain the Service — fix bugs, analyze performance, develop new features, and understand how viewers use ReelWalia
- Protect security and prevent fraud — detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations
- Respond to your requests — including data access, correction, or deletion requests
We do not use your email for unrelated marketing without your consent. We may send occasional product updates that are closely related to your account or subscription; you can opt out of non-essential emails by contacting us.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
We work with trusted third parties who process data on our behalf:

- Billing records — retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (Stripe also retains payment records according to its policies)
- Server logs — typically retained for a limited period for security and debugging
If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we must retain data for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

ReelWalia is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, in compliance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact dagmawiabebe19@gmail.com. We will promptly delete such information and terminate the associated account.
Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account or subscribe.
7. International Users
ReelWalia is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
Data protection laws in your country may differ from those in the U.S. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please note that we currently focus on U.S. viewers; contact us with questions about your rights under GDPR or similar laws.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data in transit
- Authentication through Supabase with industry-standard practices
- Payment data handled by PCI-compliant Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- Access controls limiting who at Walia Studios can access production systems
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and respond to incidents promptly.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Stripe Checkout or Google sign-in). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users by email and/or display a prominent notice on the Service
Your continued use of ReelWalia after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and contact us to delete your account.
